Housing Projects Galore

It has been a while since I updated you on the progress of our projects taking place around the house. Actually it has been a while since I have provided updates at all!

Last week we made the trip back to northern California to spend time with family. My lovely mother in law and sister in law hosted a beautiful baby shower for me. The theme was “Bikini or Board Shorts”, since we have not found out the sex of our baby. I was so fortunate to be surrounded by the most generous and loving people. I’ll post pictures in a separate entry, so that I can include recipes for some of the dishes we served.

While we were out of town our landscaping project continued. We brought the grass in our front yard back to life – YAY! The backyard is looking bigger (who would have thought that was possible?!), as they continue to prepare the ground for rocks, plants and grass. Do you see the size of those dinosaur bones, I mean roots, that were pulled out of the ground?!

I still need to upload pictures of the floor and baseboards we installed, when I say ‘we’, I really mean my husband, and a family friend who assisted with dry wall and baseboards. AND! We (again – my husband) painted my daughter’s room. The color is called Sassy Lilac, much better than the Emergency Zone Orange that she originally chose. That’s saying a lot considering my favorite color is orange!

We’re still trying to choose tile for the kitchen and downstairs half bath. Don’t even get me started. I lost count of how many samples we brought home, returned, and then those that are still on our kitchen floor…

I will work on posting more frequently, especially as we prepare the nursery, and even our own bedroom!
