Over two weeks into 2023. How are you feeling abo Over two weeks into 2023. 
How are you feeling about it? 

Well, I’ll start with saying that I had this post completely typed and ready to post. It’s lost. 
No “undo” button will retrieve it. (I tried)🤦🏽‍♀️

What did I learn from this mistake, that may help you? 
Stop waiting for the “perfect” time. The perfect time doesn’t exist. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Stop second guessing yourself! 

Ok, back to my original post - 

Last month I celebrated 500 rides on @onepeloton & ended the year with 9,000 minutes. I averaged 24 minutes of movement every. single. day. 
I didn’t work out every day, and some exercise wasn’t tracked via Peloton.

I didn’t celebrate these milestones, for me it’s about consistency. There are days I lose motivation. What kicks in is my discipline. 

What I’ve realized is that celebrating our wins and acknowledging milestones is part of our journey. 

My mentality is that if someone else can do it, then so can I. This is good and bad. It pushes me in a good way, but then I don’t celebrate my accomplishments because I don’t feel like it is one. 

We face adversity, which leaves us second guessing ourselves. 

Last week I had the most amazing strategy call. Everything discussed was exactly what I had been thinking to attract. 

Then the next day my confidence came tumbling down. I posted something in a group, and various people did their best to belittle me for making a false claim. .sigh.

Shortly thereafter, I had a few dear friends (unbeknownst to them) bring me back to reality. They blessed me with kind compliments, recognizing me as an expert in my field. 🧡 

My point is this. You will have challenges that make you question yourself and your purpose.
This is YOUR journey. We ALL make mistakes. Be open to learning from others. 

My husband used this example with my daughter and I love the point it makes…

9 of them are equally tasty and delicious, then you get one that is rotten. 
Which one do you remember and tell others about? 

The rotten one. 🍎 

Big or small - Celebrate your wins. 
If you take a loss, acknowledge it, accept it and carry forward. Doing this turns it into a win! 🏆

So let me ask you a few questions…
How active are your kids?
What is their diet like? 
Are they hydrating throughout the day?

Fruits and vegetables contribute to hydration. 
Crackers, chips, cookies do the opposite.

Sodas, juice, milk - all unnecessary. 
Try water 💦 

Sugar, candy and processed food takes more energy from their body and absorbs their water intake.

They may not notice it now, but when they’re older and their body isn’t working as efficiently, they will. Or maybe it’s coming out in their behavior and they don’t know how to express it verbally. 🤨 
Now is the time to set healthy habits! 

After a strenuous activity, it’s key to replenish electrolytes such as; sodium, potassium and magnesium. 

Gatorade vs Coconut Water -
The one consistent is that Coconut Water has more potassium and magnesium, though a little less sodium. 
Opt for natural electrolytes. 
Salt lost through strenuous exercise (sweat) can be replaced with proper nutrition or making your own natural electrolyte drink with Himalayan or Celtic Sea Salt. It’s not a good idea to consume Gatorade regularly.

As we enter 2023, I can’t help but reflect upon As we enter 2023, I can’t help but reflect upon 2022. We had such blessings and abundance fill our lives. 
One full year in Tennessee. Travels to Orlando, Maui, California, Hawaii, Phoenix and Cabo.
Making new friends, and loving old ones from afar. 
Reminiscing over how fast time goes. No more babies, but strong-willed little girls running this household.
Watching our visions become reality. 
Opening our hearts to those who are willing to accept more. 
Striving for optimal. 
Looking forward to another year of growth, faith, restructuring and connection.

‘tis the season! I love this time of year - th ‘tis the season! 

I love this time of year - the festivities, the joy, the peace and most of all the moments spent with our loved ones. 
As an adult and now as a parent, thankfully I realize that Christmas is not about the gifts. 

It’s about something so much bigger.

We are celebrating our Christmas through many magical books, traditions and time together. We chose @gatherroundhomeschool Christmas study and it is nothing short of amazing.

Yet, with all this being said I couldn’t help but look around my house and wonder what I can gift my kids without it being “too much”. We have struggles when it comes to too much stuff and things only getting used once (slight exaggeration).

When it comes to gifts I run as far as I can from plastic. This year, I’ve tried to focus on things that each child enjoys individually, such as those that they go back to often. I also wanted to include things we can enjoy together. 

Here is a list that helped me emphasize a few things;
- less waste 
- more use (value)
- creating memories

1. Need - a hobby they have or sport they play, ie yarn for a loom, new coloring books or coloring supplies 
2. Want - an interesting toy that keeps their interest - they all love Legos, puzzles, building blocks, sensory bins (themed), dolls, which can also be used over again. 
3. Wear - dress, pajamas or something they’ve liked
4. Read - we love books! Enough said 😉
5. Experience - whether they love sports, music or the museum there are numerous options to enjoy together!

Can I admit something? Recently, I have lacked mot Can I admit something?
Recently, I have lacked motivation. While we were on vacation I worked out a handful of times.

This is unlike me. I usually fit in movement at least 5 days/week. 

Exercise is not only my physical workout, but my mental one. 

You have motivators in your life, and you self-motivate, but what happens when motivation tanks? 

It is what keeps me waking up before everyone else (except the puppy), so that I can workout… 

👉🏼 Discipline 👈🏼
Even when I lack motivation, I still want to set an example.

I strive for optimal wellness.
Not just for 30 days, or 75 days.
Every. Single. Day.

You won’t hear me complaining about a lack of energy.
This doesn’t mean I don’t have slip-ups. I’m human. 
I don’t use a slip-up as an excuse. 

My discipline kicks in when my motivation steps out, because I know that my overall wellness and longevity is a journey.

Discipline isn’t limited to exercise. Be disciplined in all that you do 🧡

It was a great surprise to find a fully #plantbased restaurant near the beach that we could enjoy. It did not disappoint! We tried some of the best plant based options and flavor here.
